We’ve struggled to manage more time to get away together, with one of us retired and one still working. This past weekend was a great exception. We took our little (and ancient) Toyota RV up to Umpqua’s Last Resort for a few days away from electronics and routines. (They have Wi-Fi but we weren’t looking for that). Transformational-ly relaxing!

The campgrounds were well-tended with clean, campsites/restrooms/showers and functionally appointed. Great little convenience store nearby to walk to and doable hikes, with of course, the greater National Park’s offerings too. We ate well in-situ, caught up on sleep, books and crosswords. The staff were extremely helpful and demonstrated genuine concern that we were comfortable.

They tout that all are welcome there and Umpqua’s Last Resort walked the talk. The young folks, the families and us older folks all shared a great facility. If you’re interested, you’ll even learn local lore of early pioneers and Native American histories from the knowledgeable and friendly folks running the place. Great time and we’ll be back for sure.

    Thank you again!
